TVE withdraws from Junior Eurovision!

oikotimes.com reports:
Spanish national broadcaster TVE has sensationally announced that it is withdrawing from the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, making it the last of the 'Big 4' countries to cease participating in the show.
In a press release that is now all over the Spanish media, TVE's Director Jorgi Pons explained why the decision has been taking to withdraw: ''(Junior Eurovision) produces stereotypes that we don't share''. ''It spreads dangerous 'rays' '', he continued, ''that form stereotypes. TVE is now looking for other formats that spread different values''. The broadcaster has had good results in the contest, and said that the withdrawal was definitely nothing to do with these, but because of the format and ideals of the show.
TVE said they they'll be making their feelings known to the EBU in the search for other formats.
For the moment, they broadcaster also said that they won't be drawn into a debate about the Eurovision Song Contest itself, but finished by saying that they'll ''also be reflecting'' over their pariticpation in this event too.
