The Toppers will represent the Netherlands at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest



Dutch broadcaster NOS officially confirmed that The Toppers will represent the Netherlands at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.




The Toppers consists of Gerard Joling (48), Gordon (40) and René Froger (47).



A national selection will take place on the 1st of February.
TV viewers will get the opportunity to pick the song that will represent the Netherlands in Moscow.

Songwriters and composer are invited to send in their songs, contributions are welcome until the 23rd of November.

Netherlands rehearsals and press conference

Hind performs in front of several chandeliers which appear on big screens behind the stage.
Her vocals are very clear with perfect diction. It is always very easy understand the words while she is singing.








Press conference

At the press conference after the rehearsal, Hind expressed that she was very satisfied with her team and their mutual performance. Hind thought that the stage was really beautiful, so she really enjoyed rehearsing.
Hind had a surprise at the press conference: she brought a Serbian guitar player, called Vladan, and together they performed Your Heart Belongs To Me.

Anna Vissi's visit in the Netherlands confirmed

Yesterday afternoon rumours where finally ended when it was confirmed that Anna Vissi ('80, '82, '06) will visit Amsterdam to give a concert on the 5th of October at The Max in Amsterdam. Ticket-sales will start on Wednesday the 18th of July.
Tour-dates in Brussels on the 7th of October and Paris on the 8th of October where already confirmed. Another rumour was ended as well: Michalis Hatzigiannis ('98) will not come to the Netherlands on his European Tour.

Tickets for JESC selection available as of August 1

The tickets for the Junior National selection in the Netherlands will be available as of August 1st.

Line-up Dutch Junior Songfestival 2007 revealed

Dutch broadcaster AVRO has revealed the line-up for the two semifinals of the upcoming Dutch Junior Eurovision Song Contest selections, to be held on 22nd and 29th September. The final of the Dutch Junior Songfestival 2007 takes place on 6th October. The winner will represent the Netherlands in Ahoy' in Rotterdam.
Semifinal 1 (22 September).
Amy (11), Shelly (11), Lisa (12) - Adem in, Adem uit (Fijnaart).
Demira (10) - Ik wil rocken ('s-Heerenberg).
Jelle (13) - Ik ben verliefd (Nieuw-Vennep).
Renaldo (13) en Nigel (14) - Trill met de bill (Nijmegen).
Tess (11) - Geef elkaar de hand (Rotterdam)
Semifinal 2 (29 September)
Cher (14), Stephanie (14), Jewel (14) - Switch (Voorhout, Amsterdam and Oegstgeest).
Famke (14) - Als je iets wilt (Delden).
Gaia (15) - Zingen is leven (Zoetermeer).
Serge (14) and Dion (10) - Jij hoort bij ons (Oostzaan).
Zanna (11) - Zeg me wereld (Amsterdam)
The Dutch Junior Songfestival will be hosted by Sipke Jan Bousema. On Saturday 8th December, he will also be the host of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007, organised by Dutch broadcaster AVRO in Ahoy' in Rotterdam.

Dutch national final for Eurovision Dance Contest

The Dutch national final for the Eurovision Dance Contest will be on the 4th of August. Lucille Werner will host the contest in which only professional dancers will participate. Televoting will decide which couple will go to London.

Anna Vissi concerts in Brussels and Amsterdam

Anna Vissi, the singer who represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens in 2006, will give two concerts in the Netherlands and Belgium in October.
On Saturday 6th October Anna Vissi performs in Amsterdam.
On Sunday 7th October she takes the stage of the Royal Circus in Brussels.
The Greek community in Belgium and the Netherlands and the fans of Greek-Cypriot diva Anna Vissi can start looking forward to 6th and 7th October.
Anna Vissi will not be visiting the Low Countries for the first time. In 2006 she already went to Belgium and the Netherlands in order to promote her Eurovision Song Contest entry Everything, and in 1999 Vissi already took the stage of the Royal Circus in the Belgian capital.
