Azerbaijan wins 2011 Eurovision Song Contest




Ell/Nikki from Azerbaijan received the highest number of points from televoters and juries from the 43 countries participating in this year's edition of Eurovision Song Contest.

Katja Ebstein second in Let's dance

Tonight, the final of Let's dance, the German edition of Strictly come dancing was held. Three times Eurovision Song Contest participant Katja Ebstein finished second, only beaten by actress Susan Sideropulous who won the competition. Guildo Horn, who also took part in the show, had already been evicted in the 5th show and therefore finished 6th with his professional dance partner Motsi Mabuse.

Wolke Hegenbarth and Allan Frank will dance for Germany

Wolke Hegenbarth and Allan Frank won the German national final for the first Eurovision Dance Contest on 1st September, tonight. The couple won the televote ahead of Thomas Anders & Sofia Bogdanova and Ruth Moschner & Sergey Pluyta performing to the song Jailhouse rock.
Wolke Hegenbarth is no stranger to dance competitions since she competed in the first season of Let's dance (the German version of Strictly come dancing). She reached the final where she won the jury vote in every category; nevertheless the audience preferred her co-competitor Wayne Carpendale.
The results of the televote:

1.Wolke Hegenbarth & Allan Frank - 49 %
2.Ruth Moschner & Sergey Pluyta - 44 %
3.THomas Anders & Sofia Bogdanova - 7 %
During the show, the Austrian participants in the Eurovision Dance Contest Kelly & Andy Kainz performed.

Germany chooses Eurovision dancers on 30th June

Germany is one of the 16 countries to take part in the first edition of the Eurovision Dance Contest on 1st September.

On 30th June, during the TV show "Large Summer Celebration of the Folk Music"three couples will compete against each other to win the ticket for London.

Wolke Hegenbarth (actress, runner-up in the show "Let's Dance" with Oliver Seefeldt) and Allan Frank (former professional dancer, winner of European Championship retired in 2000, presently pilot at Luftgansa), Ruth Moschner (hostess and comedian, winner of competition "Dancing on ice" with Carl Briggs) and Sergey Plyuta (professional dancer), Thomas Anders (singer and host, participant of German Eurovision SC selection 2006) and Sofia Bogdanova (professional dancer, participant of "Let's Dance", finished 6th with Jochen Horst).

Televoting will decide on the winning couple.
