Anna Vissi in legal debate

Anna Vissi, the Greek star who has represented both Cyprus and Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest, is going through a very rough time as she saw her possessions being taken by bailiffs and her assets frozen as a result of a 2.3 million euro compensation she has to pay to the Polyvideo Production company.

Clothes, accessories, furniture, paintings and electronic gadgets were taken from Anna Vissi's home last Friday as a result of the popular singer's debate with the Polyvideo Production company who have been adjucated the astronomical sum of 2,3 million euros as compensation for a TV project that did not go through. Anna Vissi's belongings will be auctioned on October 31st at very low starting prices.

Belgium: Eurosong 2008 trailer on tv

The search for the Belgian entry for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest is promoted by a Eurosong 2008 trailer on Eén since this week. In the video, Eurosong host Bart Peeters invites popular and unknown Flemish artists to be a candidate in the one and only contest of state importance.

In April already, VRT invited established singers and undiscovered talents to submit their songs for next year's Belgian Eurovision Song Contest selections. The songs should be original and new and no longer than 3 minutes.
All languages and styles are welcome. VRT however stresses that they are looking forward to receive special and creative entries. Furthermore, VRT will also look out for strong candidates on their own. At the beginning of August, Eén started airing a trailer inviting Flemish artists to be a candidate in Eurosong 2008.

Silvia Night back in Eurovision road?

Silvia Night was one of the surprise performers at last night's SchlagerPride event in Stockholm, Sweden. A live performance of her 2006 Eurovision Song Contest song was one of the highlights of the show and will fuel rumours that the Icelandic 'megastar' is looking at a return to the competition in Belgrade.

In February, she told esctoday.com: "Last year was such a big hit and everybody loved me, so I want to keep the good memories. I've moved onto bigger things. Eurovision is for slow people... I entertained them last year but I've moved on".

Tatu is #36 in the Forbes rating

The Russian version of the magazine Forbes published a rating of 50 richest stars of Russian domestic show business and sports. The rating is set by income, press coverage, and also by the interest of an audience from July 1st 2006 to June 30th 2007.

Tatu has settled down at the 36th place having earned 1.4 million dollars. The year before Tatu where in the 6th place with an income of 3.3 million dollars. The group has droped 30 places in a year.

Dima Bilan is #3 this year with 4.1 million dollars, Valeriya is 8th with 3.5 million dollars. Zhanna Friske is 14th with about 1.3 million dollars, popular singer Maksim is 17th with about 1.5 million etc.

"We don't do anything special to get on the Forbes list. Frankly speaking, we don't care about it all. We know that anyway we're the most popular Russian girl band in the whole world!" said Yulia Volkova and Lena Katina to TV channel RussiaToday.

EBU launches official Eurovision Dance Contest website

On 1st September, the first edition of the Eurovision Dance Contest will take place in London. Today, one month exactly before the competition, the EBU has launched the official website of the show called EurovisionDance.tv, where you can find information on the show itself, the dancing couples and dancing in general.

The website features information about the event, the 16 participating couples and will soon be expanded with information about Latin- and ballroom dancing in general. In the lead up to the event, the site will be updated frequently with information about the preparations in London and the various national selections that are still scheduled to take place.
